Naval says something interesting: learning comes from iteration, not repetition. Totally true.

I wonder then, why do we keep saying that you need to fail many times in order to succeed a few times? I feel that is probably very scary for many.

We should just say you need to iterate and learn in order to succeed.

I also genuinely don't agree with calling the iterations failures, failing means something very different to me, something much more permanent.

If you can move on, you haven't failed, you learned.
